Butcher? Baker? Candlestick maker? (Why were they all in a tub together anyway?)
More to the point. Do you study? Work? Volunteer? Live off the land in a commune like a dirty hippy? Lady of leisure? Marry rich old people and live off their wealth?
I work in a Supermarket and I study psychology.
I am “in between positions” as they say.Working on my resume now. It’s all a sordid mess containing injury, firing, lawsuits, unemployment,a regular “Peyton Place” of who’s who and what’s what.
^ He’s actually the physical incarnation of Dilbert. I kid you not.
Anyway, I’m an undergraduate studying biology, and I’m only two months away from graduating with my B.S. (woot!). I also work at an animal hospital, as an assistant to the vet techs (and I do various other tasks as well).
I am a junior chemistry major. I am hoping to eventually get my PhD in organic chemistry. I also work in an organic synthesis lab and have since setepmber 2008. Hopefully I will get this damn product to work before I graduate, I want to get this thing published!
I should probably have answered my own question.
Undergrad scientist here, majoring in geology and chemistry. Still have this year and next to go, then might do honours if offered. Also, considering doing a science communication masters if I get that scholarship they offer. That is another thing I do, I help run a volunteer youth science organisation which is quite time consuming.
I currently work for a big department store, but I really hate retail, and this job is treating me like crap. I need to bail and find a geology company to work for. At least then I’ll be in the right area!
This is a bit odd that we have so many science/engineering folk around.
I’m a gypsy, AND an international spy for a secret Socialist organization based in Louisville, KY.
Studying Computer Engineering … ermm Computer Enginerding??? with a focus on embedded systems.
I am suprised we are a lot of chemists here!!!
I am an engineer in chemistry and I am doing a PhD in organometallic chemistry and catalysis.
@ the world: your brave to stay into organic chemistry!!! My work placement in Lautens lab just made me think I have to find another thing to do than synthesis of natural products!!! lol
Just tell me when your paper will be released ![]()

Fine.
I’m a professional musician. A classically trained countertenor (if you don’t know what that is, google it), who specializes in 17th and 18th century sacred literature. Most importantly, the work of Johann Sebastian Bach (It’s his birthday today, btw). My musical background is a little more varied as I have worked in Musical Theatre (Summer stock and regional houses), Jazz (I sang in Jazz clubs around Tokyo), and Barbershop (collegiate gold medalist).
After a two year contract in Japan with Tokyo Disney, I returned to the US to try and finish my long forsaken undergraduate degree in music. While in school full time, I have a part time job with Starbucks (my “Daily Planet” job), a staff singer position with an Episcopal church, and I keep a healthy performance schedule to pay the bills (I’m currently in the airport on the way to Miami for a week long contract to sing Handel’s “Israel in Egypt”).
Any youtube clips or videos around of you singing/performing doc?
I could always link to me doing karaoke, but you may have a coronary!

And I think you SHOULD show us your karaoke vids. I have a feeling it’d be hilarious and terrifying all at the same time.
Wowza! Only just started watching, but that is crazy. Voice of an angel. The video seems out of sync with the audio though.
Hmm.. just had a check and the karaoke vid is not to be found. I thought my friend may have uploaded it. There will be a next time for karaoke, and I will make sure it is recorded for your aural agony.
