Just noticed that the focus doesn’t return to the textbox when entering a message. I am using IE8

Private Messages also seem not to work.

In what way are you having trouble with private messaging? The chatroom has been tested in Internet Explorer 8 and should be fully compatible. Are you running any pop-up blockers, or are your pop-up blocking settings set high? That may interfer with the chatroom’s ability to open a private message window.

Running Windows 7 with IE8 with default settings with no add-ons. (Pretty much a barebones installation) The thing is, it doesn’t even look like it attempted to popup a window,

Are you requesting a private chat, or accepting a request?

Tried both.

The chatroom was tested in IE8 on Windows 7 too. Are you free to enter the chatroom now so I can test what is going on?

I’d just like to say I like that the message bar doesn’t constantly focus() anymore. It can be really disruptive if I’m trying to do something else while the chatroom tab is open.

I agree with Mark that not having the window focus on every message is nice, however, I do miss that the cursor returns to the text box after I submit a message.

I will put the text box focus as an option. Some browsers handle the focus request different, focusing the whole window rather than just the text box.

I’ve been dropped offline a few times without being notified. Just staring at a “slow chatroom” before I realized something was up.

It keeps logging me off too. One time it wouldn’t even let me back in because it thought I had logged out of the site. (Safari 5.0/OS X 10.6.4).

Safari had come out with an update today. Safari 5.0 just plain sucked.

I should also add, I have a netbook, built exactly in the same way as my work PC, but it has not joined the domain. It does work on the netbook for some reason.
