I want to do the gay nightlife thing for the experience. Bear/musclebear/leather bars might be a good experience as I get to do the trendy bars and clubs here in England all the time. I’ll be doing Universal Studios. Are there any good theme parks with rollercoasters and BIG rides?
Oh, and if any big guys want to meet for a drink, drop me a message.

In terms of gay clubs and… well, gay anything, WeHo (West
Hollywood) is where you want to go. I used to live in San Francisco, and I would say there is a possibility that there is an even bigger population of gay guys in WeHo, than in the Castro… In terms of WeHo gay clubs, I’d hit up RAGE and the Troubadour and Mi6. The good thing about West Hollywood is that the bars and clubs are next to each other, so if you don’t like one, you can always walk out the door, down the block, and into a new scene. I think you’d love it. Though if you are the shy type like I am you may want to steer clear some areas, I swear to god I have never been hit on that much in such a short time in my life…

I live up the road from SF. I visit every month or so. I’ve found that the Castro district is very over-rated, but can still be a lot of fun on a good night. Fridays and Saturdays (naturally) would be best, otherwise, it’s kind of dead or just full of tourists.

Also, Castro tends to cater to that ‘stereotypical homo’...whereas most of the crowd there are 20-30yos in tight clothing, funky hair, and won’t shut up about madonna. (for the most part)

Now, the Bear and Leather bars aren’t near the Castro at all. They’re in the SoMa district (south of market) or near Folsom street.

There’s a bar I like down there called The Eagle (398 12th Street). Lots of leather, lots of bears and leather daddies. Very friendly place and not as many boys who cough up purses when they talk.

Anyway, there are more bars in the SoMa/Folsom area, I just don’t remember the name of em. When you get there, as around and I’m sure you (especially) will be very kindly pointed in the right direction…maybe even escorted : P

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I’m very excited about going and hope my English accent will soften up the musclebears who’ll help ‘escort’ me around! lol. Although I don’t wear the leather gear, I do like the leather look in moderation so will be giving the Eagle a try.
