I doubt many people here have heard of this band, which is why I am making a topic of it. iamamiwhoami is an electronic band based in sweden that emerged a year ago. Starting off as a viral video campaign, iamamiwhoami concealed her identity in cryptic music videos, giving off subtle hints as to who she is, and what her “messages” are. There is a lot of symbolism, puzzles, and it’s all art. Her style is very other worldly for sure. To date she has released 7 full songs, each in the form of a music video, along with a handful of preludes. Recently she preformed a “live concert” online that ties all of her songs together into one giant story. Further she actually had her fanbase select a fan to go record with her in sweden, and he was a big piece of the story in the concert.
Anyway, I really do consider iamamiwhoami to now be my favorite band, and I am in love with every single one of her songs. If you even are slightly interested in electronic music, I highly recommend her stuff. I can almost promise you won’t be disappointed.
This is her youtube page (which contains all of her songs): http://www.youtube.com/user/iamamiwhoami
These are three of her “best” songs in my opinion:

I’m not that keen. Royksopp and Roisin Murphy are better examples of this style of music/performance.

To each their own. I do enjoy Royksopp and Roisin Murphy as well, but I just find this much has more “depth” to it and the sounds to me seem more complex, and for lack of a better word, interesting.
one mans complex is another mans boring! Lol
Didn’t I post on this post like 5 months ago? Idk. ANYWAY. I do quite love her. But I love Fever Ray more. I wish I could just marry Swedish electo-pop in general.
Also. Just sent you (theworld) last.fm friend request. Creepingly yours, Bengay.
I completely love iamamiwhoiami – especially love the live convert show.
Interesting. The music sounds familiar, I don’t know if she has been played much over here on the radio.
Some of the stuff sounds a bit like chiptune which I like. She kind of reminds me a bit of Bjork and The Knife for some reason.
