I have been taller than most everyone ever since I 13 an 6’-3”, but on average I only grew 2” a year. Ehen I was 15 and 6’7” I had a friend the same age that grew 8” in on year. He went from 5’-8” to 6’-4” and when I only went from 6’-7” to 6’-9”. He thought it was great that he grew so much in one year and was hoping to get taller than me. The follow year he grew another 4” and ended up 6’-8” while I went to 6’-11”. He ended up only growing to 6’-9” tall. His feet went from a size 9 when he was 5’-8” to a size 16 the first year and then to a size 18 the following year. I only went from a size 17 to a size 19. It was strange to have someone go from being 11” shorter tan me to only 3” shorter than me in only 2 years and to have his feet go from 8 sizes smaller than mine to only 1 size. He thought it was great but his parents kept telling him that he was putting them in the poor house with clothing and shoe costs.
Has anyone else know someone like this.
I bet your friend had some pretty epic stretch marks.
I know I grew a lot during the summer between Grade 8 and Grade 9. I didn’t notice until I looked at a photo from the end of Grade 8 where I was 4” shorter than my dad, and in starting Grade 9, I was taller than him.
I have a friend like that, we were both smaller as kids but as we became teenagers he just grew way more @ a faster rate, he’s 6’9” now, it’s hard to believe we both were around the same size as teens
I have a friend who was 5’1” at age 15, and by the time he graduated high school, he was 5’11”. I went from being 4”+ taller than him to 4”+ shorter than him in 3 years.
To:Tallguy7387…... I hope your friend developed normally…or at least healthy. That much growth so quickly sounds terribly painful.
He had growth pains but he is healthy and develope normally. It just took him a while to get his coordination to where it should be. Most of his pain was in his feet since his parents could not believe that he was gowing 2 sizes almost every 3 months. I ended up giving some my outgrown shoes so that he something to wear that would not hurt his feet when he got to a size 15.
outgrown shoes… you need to give me some.. i still think thats crazy how someone can grow that much in such in little time…
i grew a shoe size a year for like 5 years from 13 onwards to 18… then slowly to 20 over the next couple years.
